Sexuality and Personal Relationships for people who have learning disabilties

 

 

This one day course will examine definitions of sexuality, personal and organisational attitudes to sexuality and the rights of individuals to be recognised as sexual beings.

 

 

Through key texts/handouts, videos, interactive exercises and group reflection, participants will be encouraged to explore issues regarding safety, assertiveness, the law and aspects of personal relationships including; how to deal with families, how to deal with uncertainties, accessing support and "our feelings about different situations".

  • To explore issues relating to sexuality and personal relationships.

Sexuality and Personal Relationships Objectives

  • To examine our personal beliefs and attitudes towards sexual relationships and sexuality .
  • To recognise personal rights regarding sexuality and personal relationships.
  • To differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate responses to situations.
  • To establish the policy and procedures of the organisation.
  • To understand the law.
  • To become aware of how to access appropriate support.

  • For people who have learning disabilities.

  • £375 for groups of up to 20 people.
