Including Co-trainers with Learning Disabilities

Including Co-trainers with Learning Disabilities

This course will explain the role of trainer and co-trainer and encourage participants to recognise, celebrate and develop their own skills and working practice.

The role of co-trainers with learning disabilities is increasingly recognised as essential in encouraging organisations to develop more inclusive working practice. A growing number of people who are or have been on the recieving end of support services, have developed the skills to deliver training which has a real impact.

In doing so they have been able to discover and demonstrate a wide range of skills and talents.

This one day (can be delivered as two half day events) course will explore ways in which trainers and co-trainers work together to create and deliver a good training event.

The roles of trainer and co-trainer will be fully explained and there will be the opportunity to hear from an established and competent co-trainer who has learning disabilities about his experiences.

We will begin to develop personal confidence and look at the presentation skills needed to deliver training events.

Participants will have the opportunity to 'try out' presentation skills.

We will consider the negotiation of contracts between trainers and co-trainers.
